Geilo offers a large selection of activities both summer, autumn and winter - spring is so short here that we do not have an own section for this season. In winter, of course, skiing is the most important thing and Geilo is one of the best places in Norway for both cross-country and alpine skiing. Geilo has been awarded Norway's best ski resort during the World Ski Awards for two years in a row. In addition, there are a number of players who arrange winter activities such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice fishing and much more. In the summer, Geilo turns into a hike and bike eldorado. For cycling enthusiasts there is a large selection of marked bike paths. You can ride downhill on various trails in the ski resort in Vestlia, here are also pump tracks and "Skurfen". If you just want a flat and quiet bike ride, the route at the gravel roads around Lake Ustedalsfjorden is perfect. For hikers, the selection is just as good. The Sherpa stairs up on Hallingskarvet are the most popular, but there are a number of beautifully marked walks from Geilo, Tuva and Prestholtseter. About half an hour away on Dagali, you can go rafting and go-carting. If you drive an hour west - over Hardangervdda - you will come to the fantastic Vøringsfossen waterfall which can be explored from the new bridges and viewing platforms. Here we present a number of videos that show some of what is possible to do. Click on the pictures below to watch video from the relevant place (the videos open in YouTube)
